Welcome to Mrs. Island Breeze

About Me

Hey, there! I’m Leanna–attorney by day; wife, mom and foodie always.

I’m also the recipe creator behind Mrs. Island Breeze. What started as a fun side project has taken me all of the way to the Food Network. You can check me out on Season 20 of Guy’s Grocery Games on the “Home Cooks!” episode. I am based in Atlanta, Georgia, but I am a New Yorker by birth and a Bajan by blood. I love soca music and trying and recreating foods from all across the globe. My kitchen is my happy place (even though I wouldn’t mind a total remodel). On my blog, I share my recipe creations that I eat, in real life, with my family.

The food you see here is what I am putting on the table. Some meals are quick, everyday-type meals while others are more elaborate and designed for celebration. Of course, you will Caribbean food here, but you will also find cuisines from a host of other cultures because that is how I eat.

Growing up in New York City instilled me with a great appreciation for other cultures and the way that food connects us all across space, time, race and place. So welcome to my blog, my foodie friend. I hope you stick around and that you come back to visit often. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @MrsIslandBreeze to see even more of my foodie adventures (e.g. food tours, backyard gardening, restaurant outings, and much more).
